Scott Valley and Quartz Valley are accessed by Highway 3, which links Yreka on I-5 with Weaverville on Highway 299, passing through rural, mountainous scenery the whole way. This is a beautiful place to visit, and a beautiful place to play pickleball!
Pickleball play takes place on indoor courts at Berean Church in Etna and at the Quartz Valley Indian Reservation gym. You can play as a visitor or beginner for free without joining the club. After three free visits, you’ll be asked to either join the club or pay $5 per visit.

Scott Valley Outdoor Courts: Etna High School
We have three outdoor courts at Etna High School, 400 Howell Ave in Etna. They are generally available sunrise to sunset, for paid-up members only, unless the high school is using them for PE classes or competitive tennis.
The courts do not have permanent nets. Club members receive the combination to the locked box with temporary nets, balls, and paddles.
NOTE: At this time, only members who are current on their dues can play at Etna High School.
Scott Valley Indoor Courts: Berean Church
During wet weather, we play indoors on two courts at the Berean Church in Etna, located at 134 Church Street.
Quartz Valley Indoor Courts: Indian Reservation Gym
We also play inside throughout the year on three courts at the Quartz Valley Indian Reservation gym, located at 13601 Quartz Valley Rd, about 10 miles west of Fort Jones via Scott River Road.
Find Games on Playtime Scheduler!
Use Playtime Scheduler to find out exactly when and where organized play takes place, and to sign up for specific sessions. Playtime Scheduler is FREE and only requires that you sign up with an email address. Our pickleball friends in Southern Oregon have an excellent explanation for how to use Playtime Scheduler.
Make sure you choose California for state and the “Mount Shasta, Siskiyou Co” for region. Always check to see if a scheduled session is for players at and above a certain level. If you don’t know your level, you’re probably 3.0 or lower.

Stay Informed About When and Where We Play
The best ways to stay up to date: check Playtime Scheduler and the club Facebook page, along with the News section of this website. Once you officially join, you’ll also be put on the club email list.
New to Pickleball?
We always welcome beginners. Just show up at a scheduled time and place (see info above about using Playtime Scheduler) and introduce yourself. Members will show you the basics and quickly have you playing games.
Visiting the Scott Valley?
We welcome all pickleball players. The Scott Valley is renowned for its natural beauty. It’s bordered by three federal wildernesses: Marble Mountain Wilderness, Russian Wilderness, and Trinity Alps Wilderness. We also have small-town charm in Etna and Fort Jones, where you will find good restaurants, breweries, and places to spend the night.
Please ask local pickleball players for recommendations on how to best enjoy your time in the Scott Valley.
Tournaments/Competitions
Our sister clubs in Mount Shasta and Yreka/Montague host several one-day scrambles a year, and the Mount Shasta club also runs an annual tournament. For dates and details of the upcoming scrambles and tournament, check our Events page, and also our News section.
Ready to Join the Club, or Make a Donation?
